BREACH: Sheplers Western Wear

Sheplers, a western-wear retailer based in Frisco, Texas, says the company's payment systems have been breached by hackers who gained access to some of its customers' payment card information.

The company doesn't believe its online store was affected.

Sheplers said it is cooperating with law enforcement. The company said "although our investigation continues, at the present time, we believe it is safe to use payment cards at Sheplers."

Sheplers said information at risk includes names, account numbers and card expiration dates, and said it has found no evidence that debit card PINs have been compromised.

Private-equity firm Gryphon Investors bought Sheplers for an undisclosed amount in 2007. The store sells items such as boots, hats and home décor.
